Next Generation Martial Arts

You've never trained before

Most people who walk in here have never done this. Here's what actually happens.

What your first class looks like

  • You show up in shorts and a t-shirt. We'll lend you what you need.
  • Warm up, then a few techniques broken down slowly, with a partner who knows you're new.
  • You'll be told what to do the whole way through. Nobody expects you to know anything.

What we're not going to do

  • Throw you into a hard round with somebody who wants to prove a point. That doesn't happen here.
  • Put you on the spot in front of the room.
  • Ask you to sign anything on day one.

The worries we hear most

  • "I'm not in shape." Nobody starts in shape. The training gets you in shape, not the other way around.
  • "I'm too old." We have people starting in their forties and fifties. They train differently and they do fine.
  • "I'll be the worst one there." You will be, for a while, and every single person in the room has been there. That's the shared experience.

What the first few months are like

Confusing, then suddenly not. Around the three month mark most people can feel themselves surviving positions that used to be hopeless. We run a structured curriculum, so you're not left to figure it out by osmosis.

How often to come

Two classes a week is enough to make real progress. Three and it moves quickly.

Come see it for yourself

Your first class is free. Shorts and a t-shirt, that's it.
