Next Generation Martial Arts in Thibodaux is proud to announce a special exhibition match at Caged Warrior Championship 37 (CWC 37) — featuring two of our youngest rising stars. Maverick Adams and Connor Elliot, both age six, will take the stage in a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu grappling exhibition, showcasing what they’ve learned through our Pre-K Martial Arts Thibodaux program.
These two students recently graduated into our Youth Martial Arts program, and their upcoming match is more than just a friendly competition — it’s a reflection of the values they’ve built over time: focus, courage, and sportsmanship.

What Our Pre-K Martial Arts Thibodaux Program Teaches
Our Pre-K Martial Arts classes are more than just punches and pins. Designed specifically for ages 4–5, this foundational program focuses on:
-
Basic body movement and balance
-
Listening skills and respect for others
-
Positive discipline and structure
-
Fundamental grappling through BJJ and wrestling-inspired drills
By learning these core principles early, Maverick and Connor entered the next phase of their martial arts journey well-prepared — mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Built Together on the Mat
Training side by side over the past year, Maverick and Connor developed a unique bond that embodies what we believe in at Next Generation Martial Arts — that iron sharpens iron. This upcoming CWC 37 exhibition will highlight their camaraderie, technical skill, and most importantly, their character.
Though young, they’ve already learned to control their emotions under pressure, communicate with coaches, and demonstrate humility both in victory and in loss. These aren’t just traits of athletes — they’re signs of strong individuals in the making.
A Preview of What’s Possible
At just six years old, Maverick and Connor remind us what’s possible when kids start early. Pre-K Martial Arts Thibodaux is about planting seeds of resilience and respect. Our goal is not to create fighters — it’s to build strong, confident children who can grow through challenge.
Events like CWC 37 give our students a safe platform to express their skills while surrounded by the community that’s helped raise them. Parents, coaches, and teammates all play a role in shaping these young athletes — and this match is a proud moment for everyone involved.
From Pre-K to Youth BJJ: The Next Chapter
As Maverick and Connor move up to our Youth Martial Arts program, they’ll take on more advanced grappling techniques, structured competition training, and the responsibility of mentoring younger students coming up behind them. That’s the power of a full-circle martial arts education — where every level prepares the student to lead the next.
Parents often ask us, “What age should my child start martial arts?” Our answer: as early as 4 years old, through our proven Pre-K Martial Arts Thibodaux program. The earlier they begin, the more confident, coordinated, and disciplined they become. Maverick and Connor are living examples of what’s possible when training starts young — and their match at CWC 37 is the result of countless hours of focused development on and off the mat. Their journey proves that Pre-K martial arts in Thibodaux isn’t just fun — it’s the foundation for future champions.
