Week 42 of 96

Back Control Bottom — Seoi Nage Throw Escape

Get to turtle · Clear the hook · Grab the arm · Pull them over · Underhook and pin

What To Think About This Week

The Lesson

Get to turtle first — knees and elbows. Now find the hook and drive your knee through to clear it. Did they start to fall? That's the throw starting. Grab that arm, pull it to your chest. Pull, trade, pull — keep going until they come over the top. Get the underhook as they land and pin.

Don't think of it as a dramatic throw. Think of it as a continuous pull that you keep feeding until the position gives way. Patience and persistence — not explosiveness.

Purple / Brown / Black
Neutral start or request a specific position you want to work on.
Takedown Rounds
Same rules apply. White vs white — controlled and flowing. Upper vs lower — lower rank picks entry or tie-up. Purple / brown / black — neutral or requested start.
