Side Control — Chest to Chest

Positional control · U-Hook Armbar · O-Hook Armbar

What To Think About This Week

The Lesson

This week is not about finishing the armbar. It is about feeling when the armbar becomes available. There is a significant difference between those two things. One is chasing a result. The other is developing awareness.

Stay in Chest to Chest. Feel your connection points. When your partner moves, notice what opens and what closes. The U-Hook and O-Hook Armlocks are not things you force — they are things you recognize. Your job this week is to start developing that recognition.

Every rep that doesn't finish is teaching you something. Stay curious about what that is.

Class Rolling & Takedown Rules

How We Roll

White vs White
Flow training by default unless the instructor specifies otherwise. Build movement and good habits before competition pressure.
Upper vs Lower
Lower ranking student picks their top position. Blue through black vs white, or blue vs black — the lower rank decides where to start.
Purple / Brown / Black
Neutral start or request a specific position you want to work on. Self-directed development at this level.
Takedown Rounds
Same rules apply. White vs white — controlled and flowing. Upper vs lower — lower rank picks entry or tie-up. Purple / brown / black — neutral or requested start.
