Mount Top — Low Mount

Control & Stabilization · Forcing the Turn · Advancing to Middle Mount

What To Think About This Week

The Lesson

Mount is one of the most dominant positions in all of grappling. But most people who get there immediately start hunting for a submission and lose the position in the process.

This week resist that instinct. Your only job is to stay there. Feel what it takes to maintain mount against a resisting partner. Feel where the pressure needs to be. Feel when they are about to turn. Feel when the elbow separates from the rib.

The submissions come next month. This week — own the position.
