Open Guard Top — Inside Right Hub

Inside Right Hub — Knee Cut, Folding & X Pass

What To Think About This Week

The Lesson

The pass isn't your decision — it's theirs. Settle into the Inside Right Hub and feel what they're giving you. Are they driving their knee away from you? That's the knee cut. Are they pushing that knee back toward their other leg? That's the folding pass. Are they pressing you away entirely? That's the X pass.

You don't pick the pass — you feel the opening and take it. The more patient you are in the base position, the more clearly their movement tells you where to go.

Class Rolling & Takedown Rules

How We Roll

White vs White
Flow training by default unless the instructor specifies otherwise. Build movement and good habits before competition pressure.
Upper vs Lower
Lower ranking student picks their top position. Blue through black vs white, or blue vs black — the lower rank decides where to start.
Purple / Brown / Black
Neutral start or request a specific position you want to work on. Self-directed development at this level.
Takedown Rounds
Same rules apply. White vs white — controlled and flowing. Upper vs lower — lower rank picks entry or tie-up. Purple / brown / black — neutral or requested start.
